Closing of the Conference
Herman Gresnigt

Closing session, Thursday 13 July 2000, 16.00 - 17.00

By means of the presentation of our website we have created a link from this conference to the future, to our future work: ensuring that all we have done here in the past few days will indeed be continued.
I think I can truly say that it has been a good conference, a very inspiring event for each person who has had the privilege to be able to attend. I am really impressed by the creativity that was demonstrated in many lectures and posters, in the exhibition of the schools for visually impaired in Poland, in the gala concert of last Tuesday and in many more respects.

This conference could not have been realised without the help of many people: the Polish Host Committee under supervision of Mieczyslaw Kozlowski, the staff of the Academy under supervision of Mrs Ewa Boba, the programme committee and the European Committee. Yesterday evening the European Committee expressed its thanks to the Polish Host Committee during a dinner in Wawel Castle. May I ask you to thank them with a thunderous applause and to all those who have, in any way, made a contribution to this conference.
A special word of thanks for our interpreters under supervision of Roman Tertil who have enabled us to cross borders.
FinallyI hope to meet all of you this evening at our closing party in the Royal Castle in Niepolomice.
