A law, called "Protection, rehabilitation and social integration of disabled people" passed in 1996. This law regulates the right for integrated education.
The staff involved are called "resource teachers". They give also lessons in O&M, ADL etc.
There is a very close co-operation as the first resource centres were established within the Special Schools for the VI. Special schools support the children in mainstream schools.
They are trained at the University. It is an important part of the training of teachers of the v.i.
